Homeland Security Grant Program (HSGP)
Program owner: DHS – Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA)
Summary: National preparedness grant supporting terrorism prevention, protection, response, and recovery through SHSP, UASI, and OPSG.
The Homeland Security Grant Program (HSGP) provides critical funding to state, local, tribal, and territorial partners to build and sustain capabilities needed to prevent, protect against, respond to, and recover from acts of terrorism and major disasters.
HSGP includes the State Homeland Security Program (SHSP), the Urban Areas Security Initiative (UASI), and Operation Stonegarden (OPSG). Law enforcement agencies commonly use these funds for equipment, intelligence support, training, exercises, and regional task force initiatives.
