The Texas Public Safety Office expects to make $800,000 available for FY2027 projects supporting qualifying Internet Crimes Against Children Task Forces. Applicant types: State government and municipal government entities that are the named DOJ-recognized ICAC Task Force lead agencies.
Applications may be submitted only by DOJ-recognized ICAC Task Force lead agencies and are expressly limited to the Texas Office of the Attorney General, City of Dallas, and City of Houston.
What can the funding be used for?
Activities addressing technology-facilitated enticement and sexual exploitation of children or Internet-based production, manufacture, and distribution of child pornography in support of qualifying ICAC Task Forces. Eligible costs include investigator and prosecutor salaries and overtime, training and travel, supplies, direct operating expenses, and equipment. The stated program purpose also encompasses forensic and investigative components, technical assistance, victim services, and community education.
Restrictions
Construction, renovation, or remodeling; medical services; standard-issue law-enforcement equipment; transportation, lodging, per diem, or related participant costs when grant funds are used to develop and conduct training; costs prohibited by the Guide to Grants; and costs prohibited by federal, state, or local law or regulation.
How to apply
Register and apply through the Texas Public Safety Office eGrants system. Submit and certify the application, including all applicable required attachments, no later than February 12, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. CST. PSO will screen applications for compliance and review them based on eligibility, reasonableness, available funding, and cost-effectiveness. The Office of the Governor may make partial awards or narrow a proposed project's scope.
Required materials
A fully executed governing-body resolution is required when applicable to a local government or other political subdivision. Local governments must upload the Cybersecurity Training Certification for State and Local Governments. Each applicable local government or institution of higher education operating a law-enforcement agency must upload a fully executed CEO/Law Enforcement Certifications and Assurances Form. Applicants must also be registered in SAM and have a UEI, although the source describes these as eligibility requirements rather than application attachments.
